One of the many fine parks of the Gold coast, Runaway Bay is somehow overrun with filthy disease ridden scooter kids. Kurt Nischel scares them away with pure gnar-ness and sends them back into their jungle lairs. Kurt is a graphic designer, tree surgeon, professional downhill skateboarder, and also recently invented the “watermelon helmet” at a recent hard liquor pool party. This handrail is terrible. It’s high, on a busy street, it needs a wood landing, and you have to get up a curb before you hit it.It sucks. But, on the Gold Coast you sometimes have to work a little harder to skate those non played out spots. Here’s Hayden, with a new yet old hippy take on a classic Surfers Paradise spot. It’s pretty dope how hippy jumps are now fully accepted by the mainstream ..even Jamie Thomas does one in the new Fallen video?!? Shit son! It’s more of a hippy leap then a hippy jump. Maybe even a hippy launch? There’s got to be some distinctions put in place in the world of hippy jumping
Gold Coast just got even more slick. I think I’m going to just camp out there for the rest of the year, maybe under the cradle, or that little shaded area by the water fountain. I could make a living scrounging for coins in the grass and living off 420 pies from the Servos across the street.
