My homie Rafael Gomes has been just killing it lately, and is now a part of NYC’s 5Boro skateboard team. Congrats Rafael! And congrats on the covers of both of Brasil’s biggest skateboard magazines too……porra Here’s a recent clip of Mr Gomes, Fred gall and Steve Durante somewhere deep in New Jersey, and here’s some bowly goodness I filmed with Rafael in Rio de Janeiro a few years ago
I’ve already posted a link to this vid I produced in Brasil in 2007, but I uploaded it back when youtube didn’t have the lovely HD option..so, here it is again in stunning almost HD quality but not quite. Bigup to all the Avuatauba crew, Raphael Buarque and Fabricio Sacramento from Cartel Design, Rio de Janeiro. Fabricio’s making a proper website for SOTI right, thank Buddha, Mohhamed and whatever other deity you can think of

grilo-line Here’s some throwaway of Grilo at the Galpao Skatepark in Rio. He recently got on the Brazilian Deathwish team, so big up to Grilo for that bizznass. Fits right in with that team…!

barata-line Luquinhas gets robbed at Praça XV, Rio de Janeiro. He landed this line consistently 10 times and kept getting ruined on the last trick as you can see
Ademar “Luquinhas” Lucas with the switch tail 270 heel at the Monumento ledges! This was published in the October issue of Tribo, one of Brasil’s national skateboard magazines. Photo by René Jr. Moleque literally means “street urchin”. Incorporate it into your vocabulary and you will impress every Brazilian that you meet
mera-manual Ionir Mera at Monumento, RJ, back in the day when it was overgrown with weeds, seen
xv-bump Praça XV, downtown Rio de Janeiro, Emanoel Ribas, a dude who’s name I forget (sorry homie!) and Leo Lopes warm up on one of the many planter gaps. Switch FS flip, FS Heel, Back 3…but you probably knew that because you’re a skerd
